The STERLING GOSPEL MUSIC AWARDS S.G.M.A., is the only of its kind Gospel Awards Show in Jamaica, which seeks to highlight the creativity, talent and stellar contribution of individuals to the growing and successful Gospel Industry in Jamaica.

The name ‘STERLING’ is derived from the Oxford definition of the word, which means excellent or valuable.

Other synonyms of Sterling include: first class, exceptional, outstanding, superlative, laudable and admirable.

Founder

Having been heavily involved in the Gospel Music Industry over the past twelve years, founder of S.G.M.A., Basillia Barnaby-Cuff, previously a Media Personality at two of Jamaica’s top Gospel Radio stations, LOVE 101 FM and NCU FM, has seen the importance and value of an annual Awards Show to not only give back, but encourage our gospel artistes in their pursuit of excellence in their field.

Purpose

The Awards show highlights the contribution of persons right across the board, who have helped in cementing Jamaica internationally, as one of the hubs for authentic, passionate and skilfully written, inspiration filled gospel songs, which is more often than not, fused with our rich culture of Reggae, known right around the world.
